Rooftop Terrace in Gothenburg

Designers: White architects, Mats Aldén, Gunilla Allard & Note Design Studio, Nola

On a rooftop terrace boasting wide views of Gothenburg's harbour, we meet a versatile gathering place for the office building's employees. Their primary requests included an outdoor lunch spot, whether for communal or solitary dining, as well as a space that could accommodate both relaxation and conversations.

The Long Table serves multiple purposes, accommodating larger gatherings as well as providing a space for relaxation, coffee breaks, games, flea markets, or play in public settings.

In High Sunchair, one can enjoy sunny moments in good company.

Furniture selection prioritized two key factors: the ability to anchor them securely and a pronounced wood-like warmth in their appearance. Vibrant colours were introduced to infuse a sense of optimism.

Here, employees find themselves comfortably socializing at the Long Table (Långbordet), enjoying some sun and coffee in High Sunchair, taking calls or breaks in Sigill, or in a connected variation of Värtan.

The connected version of Värtan utilizes space efficiently while creating an open and inviting atmosphere.
