Central belongs to a new generation of modular furniture that creates places to hang out in. The system is comprised of curving components and linear modules that interlock to form seats, tabletops and armrests. Planters slot in-between to add variety or designate individual areas. Materials and surface treatments

Sioo-treated Oak.

Powder-coated steel.

Assembly and placement

Delivered in parts for final assembly on site.

Freestanding. The individual units bolt to each other.

Maintenance

Scratches can be repainted with alkyd oil enamel.

Sioo-treated oak has been treated with Sioo Wood Protection and Sioo Weather Protection processes. After one year, the Sioo Weather Protection product should be reapplied to the wood parts. The treatment will lasts for approximately 8-10 years, after which time the weather protection product should be reapplied. Sioo-treated oak will turn pale grey over time.

The park bench has a backrest and is available with or without armrests on the sides or in any other section.

Designers

Thomas Bernstrand

Designer Thomas Bernstrand, who owns his own design studio in Stockholm, has participated in a large number of design and art exhibitions around the world such as MoMA in New York, Colette in Paris, Biennale Design Saint-Etienne and others.

Bernstrand has received several awards for his work, including Excellent Swedish Form and Winner of the Good Design Award 2012 for Nolastolen Share. For Nola, Bernstrand has designed a large number of products and furniture series and participated in a number of special projects over the years.
