DETAILS MAKE ALL THE DIFFERENCE
Just as urban life keeps changing, so do we. We’re always keen to move ahead by exploring new ideas, taking risks, and experimenting with new materials. Nola’s product range has been built by established designers as well as fresh talent from the young generation. The designs that result appeal to consumers
of all ages in virtually every walk of life.
Many of this year’s new products are created by award-winning designers. Danish design group Komplot have created a uniquely tactile bollard in polyurethane, while Malmö-based designer Louise Hederström launch laser-cut seating. From Stockholm, Mia Cullin and design group TAF used metal folding techniques to craft sleek shapes.
A3,A4,A5
The bins are manufactured for indoor use only. They are ideal for offices everywhere, and also suited for use in libraries and archives. The bins are widely used for the distributorion of promotional material at events such as trade fairs, conferences, shopping centres and sports arenas.
Access
The Access bench is ergonomic design at its best. Creating products that accommodate a wide range of body shapes and different levels of mobility is a central concern for Nola, as we strive to make public design more accessible. The seat and back of the Access bench have added height and a slight forward incline that enables the user to rise more easily. Access is fitted with curved armrests that provide extra support, giving the user an independent means of sitting down and standing up. Access is a groundbreaking combination of contemporary form and ergonomic design.
Baba
Gunilla Hedlund´s colourful Baba chairs may have more in common with the porous architecture of Toyo Ito than they do with the furniture around them. Like Ito, Hedlund often uses organic shapes in her work and relies on negative spaces to break down the density of surfaces and mass. Hedlund is the designer behind several popular Nola products. Hedlund´s designs, like good architecture, almost always withstand the test of time.
Barrel
The even slats of the Barrel chair may recall the rustic form of a traditional wooden drum, but he comparision stops there. Sleek, streamlined and designed for the 21st century exterior, the Barrel chair is a striking complement to almost any table. Available in teak, the base is anchored to a weightless tainless steel frame supported by runners rather than legs. Lightweight, stackable and stylish, the Barrel chair seems certain fto find a place among the next generation of antiques.
Basket
This striking litterbin reinvents the traditional woven wastepaper basket by replacing its fibres with sleek metal spines. Traditionally, baskets were created as functional items, but today the practice of basket-making is likened to an art form.
Basket combines function and form in an efficient outdoor litterbin constructed with a cylindrical container and a basket-like protective outer casing. Its wide mouth makes it an easy target for waste items, which disappear into the container below.
Bob
Bob is a reflective polyurethane bollard scaled down to normal seat height so that weary pedestrians can rest their feet. The bollard’s structure is lightweight and hollow, making it easy to transport and install. Once its base has been attached to the surface beneath it, sandbags are dropped inside to weigh it to the ground. The bollard is encircled with a reflective UV strip that has been seamlessly joined to its outer shell.

Budget
An outdoor furniture suite based on simplicity, economy and efficiency and suitable for a wide range of venues.
Concrete things
The moulded concrete shapes of these monumental forms may appear to be massive, but their sculptural shapes were actually inspired by the weightless lines of the Grid chair. Like different sides of the same coin, the two chairs are literally the skin and bones of a single design. The impression of the wave-like grid pattern is etched across the surface of the concrete cair, while its back and sides-like the surfaces of the cube side table-remain smooth and unblemished.
Diagram
Architects Clara Lindencrona and Karin Andersson usually design in response to an existing landscape, but their plastic-fibre Diagram bench seems to be a landscape in itself. Diagram´s preciptitous backrest brings the outline of mountain range to mind, while its rippling surface suggest a topograhy of mountain plateaux sloping towards the sea. The bench is a beautiful compliment to a contemporary gallery or a modern museum – where it could be mistaken for an contemporary gallery or modern museum – where it could be mistaken for an artwork – yet thogh enough to be the playground´s most popular attraction.
Elbin
NEW
Elbin is shaped in order to satisfy the needs of the end user as well as the needs of the refuse collectors. The conical shape of the container and the generous opening of the lid makes the bin more accessible, wich in other terms makes it easier to contribute to a clean environment. With it´s simple and graphical appearance, Elbin 80 fits well into the different areas of a city, both as a solitary unit or in a group.
Flamingo
Although public surf zones and internet hotspots are found almost everywhere today, very few of them have comfortable, practical seating designed with the web-user in mind. Matilda Lindblom broke new ground when she designed the ergonomic shape of this adjustable swivel chair. Lindblom merged the workstation´s seat and work surface in a single expression, creating a bird-like silhouette that also provides a comfortable place to perch.
Foga
The powder-coated steel Foga indoor litterbin is one of Sweden´s most popular trash receptacles. Its streamlined, modular expression gives it a unique versatility. Four individual modules can be grouped together to form a square, each positioned so that an opening faces each outer side. They can also be aligned side-by-side. A line-up of Foga containers creates a row so striking that they´ll be noticed in a single glance. Highly attractive and easily acceccible, the ´Foga´signals a new direction for public receptacles.
Four Seasons
NEW
The Four Seasons parasol provides year-round shelter from the sun and rain.
Frank
Taylors first design for Nola revisits the
classical park benches of previous centuries and updates them for twenty-first century urban centres. Taylor simplified and reconfigured the decorated frames typical of Continental Europe, then merged the armrests and the supports in a single expression. Traditional wooden laths form the seat and backrest, creating a silhouette that easily blends into a historic setting.
Guldlock
NEW
Portable barrier complete with post, rope and indoor/outdoor planter.
Hinken
*NEW 2008
Nola has been recognized over the years as a large supplier of litterbins for outdoor and indoor use. With this new contribution to the assortment we are pleased to offer a completely new and modernistic shape of bin with a soft and glossy surface.
Hjorthagen
The products in the Hjorthagen furniture suite are the perfect combination of traditional garden furniture and contemporary outdoor furniture. Each piece is crafted in wood, and the benches, armchairs and table honour the long tradition of craftsmanship that characterises Scandinavian wood furniture. The Hjorthagen suite reinvents traditional painted wooden furniture in durable outdoor style that lends an element of refined craftsmanship to any setting.
Kajen bench
Conventional wooden slats form the seat and backrest of this undulating bench, but its design is completely unique. Crafted in an expressive, swooping form that balances atop three structural supports, the bench is made with maximum comfort in mind. One of the first park benches to be accompanied by a footstool, the design invites those seated to put their feet up, or just sit back and relax. The laid-back luxury of this bench makes a unique addition to any public space.
Light Up
Part of the Œ-up¹ series, these sleek aluminium torch holders can be
positioned to spread warming light throughout an outdoor space, or
strategically arranged to create dramatic effects. A row of torch holders
lining the sides of a walkway creates a path of light leading up to the
building¹s entrance, or creates an eye-catching luminary in the garden.
Grouped together, the torch holders blaze with the intensity of firelight,
and bathe their surroundings in a warm glow that makes winter nights less
bleak.
Torch holder “Light-up” give with their travel and sculptural form and a stylish impression.

Nordfjell Collection
Swedish garden expert Ulf Nordfjell is known for his visionary style and the subtle harmonies he creates. Nordfjell rose to international fame in 2009 when his creation for The Daily Telegraph newspaper won the Best in Show award at The Chelsea Flower Show in London. Nordfjell favours muted colours, clean lines and bold contrasts, and the benches, pergola, planters and seating in the Nordfjell collection reflect his style.
Plint
Broberg & Ridderstråle’s designs are characterised by architectonic details that take minimalism to a higher level. This low, lateral bench is a mastery of materials and proportions, combining anthracite-coloured slabs of cast concrete to create a functional shape with the awe of an urban altar. The pieces are assembled using an old-style mortis and tenon technique, resulting in an exciting new design that pays homage to traditional craftsmanship.

Saturnus & Pandora
Saturn may be known as the sixth planet in the solar system, but the planter inspired by its shape is considered to be the first in its class. Just as Saturn’s rings encircle the planet’s physical core, the perimeter of this fibreglass planter orbits around a cylindrical urn placed in its centre.
Segment
The boundaries between nature and culture blur as the Segment group of planters enable plant life to thrive indoors or takes contemporary style out to the garden.

Solaris
NEW
A durable lightweight planter designed to compliment architectural settings.
Wimbledon
Although ‘Tennis, anyone?’ seems to be the question asked by the sporty designs in this furniture suite, their minimalist shapes are equally at home on a restaurant terrace as they are at the racquet club. The Wimbledon furniture suite includes dining chairs, bar stools, club chairs and an assortment of café tables. Each design was created through the combination of simple geometric shapes, clean curves, soft angles and subtle styling. Each table is reinforced by a shelf-like surface underneath the tabletop that combines
